KCC Farmers Market

Help us rescue food from the KCC Farmers Markets on Saturdays from 10:45 am-11:30am! Oftentimes food vendors & farmers will have perfectly good leftover food at the end of the market that they won’t be able to sell at a later date. In this role, volunteers rescue excess food and help redistribute it to organizations that feed Hawaii's' hungry.

The Task: 1-2 time per month (depending on volunteer availability/preference and market need), volunteers will share information about Aloha Harvest with passersby at the market; check in with regular food donors; collect, weigh, & track the food rescued that day; and drop off the food to a partner agency at close of market.

Requirements:

-Can commit to volunteering 1-2 times a month

-Has access to a car to help transport food & supplies

-Vaccinated for Covid-19 

-Is comfortable talking/ working with others
